About Takhat Sri Harmandir Ji
Takhat Sri Harmandir Ji, Patna Sahib is one of the most important Sikh pilgrimage sites. It marks the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru. This sacred gurdwara holds immense religious significance for Sikhs worldwide.
The gurdwara was built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh in the 19th century on the site where Guru Gobind Singh was born in 1666. It is one of the five Takhts (thrones) of Sikhism, making it a supreme authority in Sikh religious matters.

The gurdwara is open to visitors of all faiths. It offers free accommodation and meals (langar) to pilgrims. The best time to visit is during Guru Gobind Singh's birthday celebrations in December/January when special events are organized.
